WORLD CLASS COMPETITION

A World Class qualifying competition will be held in conjunction with Regionals.. This is for dancers that wish to qualify to represent Canada at the World Championships hosted by the International Dance Organization. Contact for Canadian Dancers: 1-800-413-0114 or bonnie@dancecanadacndc.com

Since the International Dance Organization has over 75 Member Countries from around the World, each Country is limited to the amount of dancers that they can send. Below you will find listed Regional Competitions and what World Qualifying competitions will he held at each location.

Alberta – Regional Competition, plus World Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Danceshow & Tap World Qualifier

Manitoba/Saskatchewan – Regional Competition, plus World Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap Solo World Qualifier

Ontario - Regional Competition, plus World Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Dance show & Tap World Qualifier

Quebec – Regional Competition, plus World Ballet, Modern, Jazz & World Hip Hop Qualifier

Maritimes: Regional Competition

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

1. The Canadian Dance Organization & Canadian National Dance Championships IS THE ONLY qualifying competition that dancers in Canada can progress onto the World Championships. As the Canadian Dance Organization is the Canadian member of the International Dance Organization with members worldwide.
2. Dancers must compete in a regional to enter the World Class Competition to qualify
3. Dancers must be Canadian Citizens
4. Dancers may qualify as a solo, duet or trio, Schools may qualify with small and large groups
5. IDO rules will be in effect for World Competition
6. All dancers representing Canada will be known as “TEAM DANCE CANADA”
7. Approx. Cost of Trip for Europe 1-week – 2900.oo Two Week Competition $3500.00, this includes your air, hotel,Breakfast, transportation while in Europe,Team Canada Jacket, International License Fee’s, Starter (Entry Fee) and Canadian Membership Fee’s. All dancers must travel to and from Europe together as a Team
8. For the World Jazz, Ballet & Modern Championships in United States the cost is $200.00 which will include your team wear and other competition fee’s. You must take care of your own Air & Hotel Expense. Teachers accompanying their groups must also take care of their own expenses.
9. All qualified dancers will be given a package with information to send to sponsors. Each dancer may only obtain enough sponsors to pay for their entire trip. Sponsor money does not include spending money or loss of wages while away.
10. Large Groups (formations) (Europe Only)One teacher will be given air and hotel to accompany their large group (formation)
